Light up the East African Island Countries | Helping Comoros to Build an Integrated Green Grid of Light, Storage and Firewood for Constant Intelligence

Between the blue skies of the western Indian Ocean lies the Comoros, an island nation that has long been plagued by power shortages. As one of the world's least developed countries recognized by the United Nations, the country's power grid is extremely fragile and has long relied almost entirely on diesel generators. However, this traditional method not only fluctuates greatly in output, but also brings high cost and serious pollution: diesel oil is all imported, the supply cost remains high, the equipment maintenance is complicated, the combustion emission increases the environmental burden, the voltage instability and frequent power outages seriously restrict the local people's livelihood and economic development.

Today, this dilemma is being broken. The 16MW photovoltaic 9.1MWh energy storage project, Utilities by the UAE government and invested by GSU (Global South, affiliated to Masdar, the largest clean energy developer in the Middle East), has been successfully put into operation in Grande Comore. As the core energy storage solution provider of the project, we have injected stable, clean and intelligent green energy power into this East African island country by virtue of our self-developed PC-B 100kW/233kWh energy storage system and WHES OS energy management system.

integration of optical storage and firewood: building a resilient microgrid

this project adopts the architecture of "integration of optical storage and firewood" to realize efficient energy coordination:

during the day: 16MW photovoltaic power station gives priority to supplying power to load; Excess electricity is automatically charged into 39 PC-B energy storage systems (total power 3.9MW, the total capacity is 9.1MWh);

At night or when the light is insufficient: the energy storage system discharges seamlessly to continuously support the critical load.

Perfect authority certification. It is equipped with the original battery module of Ningde era, which has high safety and long life, and has won high recognition from customers.

Unafraid of the harsh environment of the island: PC-B hard core strength

the climate of large comoros island is rainy, humid and hot, and salt spray is highly corrosive, which poses severe challenges to energy storage equipment:

long-term rainfall and sea breeze environment: PC-B 100kW/233kWh has IP55 protection grade, and can operate stably outdoors for a long time without additional shelter. Only 500 meters from the coastline,

from plan to operation and maintenance: delivering capacity for the whole process of Heng Intelligent

This project is an assistance project of the UAE government to Comoros, which has extremely strict requirements on the delivery cycle. The customer initially preferred a containerized energy storage solution, but was limited by the special geographical and infrastructure conditions of the Comoros-weak industrial base and limited port handling capacity-traditional containers were overweight and bulky, making it difficult to complete the full transportation and location from the port to the project site.

provides Hengintelligent with an end-to-end solution from design to delivery. It adopts an integrated PC-B cabinet-type energy storage system and a boost converging warehouse. All equipment will be shipped to Comoros after the whole machine is pre-installed in China. Single cabinet supports standard forklift handling, without large lifting machinery, significantly reducing the dependence on local logistics and construction conditions, on-site installation and commissioning is efficient and convenient, greatly shortening the construction period, fully meeting the strict requirements of the project "extremely short delivery period", and realizing rapid deployment in a real sense. Under the constraints of local infrastructure, PC-B solutions stand out with excellent transport adaptability and engineering implementability, taking into account high performance and high landing feasibility. In addition, Hengzhi will provide EPC with a full set of technical and construction support, send senior engineers to the site to guide the installation and commissioning, and simultaneously carry out system training for local operation and maintenance teams, thus truly realizing "turnkey engineering capacity building" and helping Comoros to build sustainable independent operation capability.

Today, 39 PC-B energy storage systems have built a resilient, green and smart microgrid together with 16MW photovoltaic power stations. This is not only another benchmark project for Hengintelligent to land in Africa, but also demonstrates the important value of China's new energy technology to enhance energy accessibility, enhance grid resilience and promote green transformation for southern countries around the world.

For constant intelligence, let green energy illuminate more islands and towns, and let every "lack of electricity corner" in the world have a bright future.
