China’s first overseas full-tab production line has been established in Kulim, Kedah, marking a new chapter in the company’s global expansion strategy
On March 26, 2026, the commissioning ceremony for HSD Malaysia’s full-tab battery manufacturing facility and the Global Partners Conference were successfully held, officially launching production at the state-of-the-art battery manufacturing hub in Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia. This move marks the successful establishment of China’s first large-scale, overseas production line for full-tab cylindrical batteries. It not only represents a major milestone in HSD’s global expansion strategy but also demonstrates to the global market the company’s unwavering commitment to deepening its presence in the new energy sector and accelerating the globalization of its supply chain. On the day of the commissioning ceremony, local dignitaries—including a Kedah State Executive Councillor, representatives from Malaysia’s Ministry of Home Affairs and Kulim Municipal Council, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), and the Royal Customs Department’s Kulim Branch—joined global strategic customers and partners to jointly witness this historic moment.

The new-generation 21700-50PS battery has been launched, with full-tab technology shattering the industry’s performance ceiling
As the centerpiece of this production launch event, Hai Sida officially unveiled its next-generation full-tab battery cell—the INR21700-50PS. This versatile battery cell, with a rated capacity of 5.0 Ah, has successfully advanced full-tab technology from the laboratory to a new level of large-scale, intelligent mass production. This all-around battery cell combines high capacity, high power, and long cycle life, culminating in three major technological breakthroughs, four core highlights, and five key application areas. This battery cell features foundational innovations in both its material system and structural design. By leveraging a jointly developed Ni90+ high-energy cathode, a next-generation silicon-carbon (SiC) fast-charging anode, and a revolutionary “point–line–surface” three-dimensional conductive network, the cell achieves a generational leap in performance.

Ultra-low internal resistance and explosive power: Internal resistance is reduced to ≤3 mΩ (more than 70% lower than conventional designs), supporting instantaneous pulse discharges of up to 250A (50C), making it an ideal match for devices that require instant, peak performance.
Breaking Boundaries with an Ultra-Wide Temperature Range: It delivers stable discharge performance across an extreme temperature range of -40°C to 80°C, effectively eliminating the limitations that have long restricted battery use in high-latitude cold regions and during high-temperature outdoor operations.
High-Efficiency Fast Charging: Supports 3C fast charging (charges to 80% SOC in 15 minutes), eliminating range anxiety and significantly boosting productivity in industrial settings and outdoor operations.
Ultra-Long Cycle Life: In rigorous cycle-life testing, the battery delivers 1,000 cycles at a 30A high-rate discharge. Compared with multi-tab batteries, its cycle life is more than doubled, and it also supports high-rate cycling at 50A and 70A.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, guests were invited to tour Hesida’s Malaysia facility and its world-leading full-tab production line. From high-precision electrode sheet manufacturing in the front-end process to highly automated slitting and assembly workshops, HSD’s stringent quality control and intelligent manufacturing capabilities have earned high praise from government officials and global customers alike.
