Taiwan's Fuhai Smart Energy Orders Full to 2030

Taipei (Taiwan News Network)-Liu Huiqi, president of Fuhai Smart Energy, said that the company's revenue this year is expected to exceed NT $10 billion (about US $0.333 billion), and orders are currently full until 2030. As a subsidiary of the Formosa Plastics Group, the company continues to grow in the energy storage and electric vehicle lithium battery business. According to Taiwan's "Economic Daily" report, last year the company's revenue exceeded NT $2.5 billion and achieved profitability. Liu Huiqi pointed out that the global trend of developing renewable energy and reducing carbon emissions has given the energy storage industry strong growth potential.

He added that the lithium battery cell factory in Changhua Binhai Industrial Zone started mass production of large battery modules last year, significantly increasing revenue. In order to meet the growing demand, Liu Huiqi revealed that the company plans to build a new factory near the Changhua plant, which is expected to be put into operation in 2028. The automation rate of the production lines of the two factories will reach 80%, including the use of automatic guided vehicles to assist material handling.

Last year, Fuhai Smart Energy completed 13 energy storage installations in Taiwan, with a total capacity of more than 460 MWh. Liu Huiqi said that under the subsidy policy introduced by Taiwan's economic authorities, companies are encouraged to install locally manufactured energy storage systems. At present, eight companies have sought cooperation with Fuhai Smart Energy.

The lithium iron phosphate backup power system used by the company is designed for artificial intelligence infrastructure. Liu Huiqi said that as the demand for artificial intelligence data centers grows, the demand for backup power will also rise. He expects the system to be certified in the United States in the third quarter and deployed in American AI data centers.

In addition to expanding its presence in the United States, the company has exported its products to Vietnam and Malaysia, and plans to enter the Philippines and Poland this year. Liu Huiqi revealed that the company delivered battery modules to 200 electric buses last year and expects to receive another 100 orders in the first half of this year. The company also plans to expand the battery module to a variety of electric vehicle models. In October this year, Fuhai Smart Energy cooperated with China Automobile to equip its electric logistics vehicles with battery systems. The cooperation aims to support the government's policy to achieve universal access to electric logistics vehicles and buses by 2030.
