Jiangsu Zhengli Xineng recently signed an agreement with Suzhou Xiangcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone to land a new generation of 50GWh long-term energy storage intelligent manufacturing project, which is also the largest single energy storage manufacturing base since the establishment of the company.
the contract will be completed on March 19, 2026. the project will be developed by Suzhou lishen energy technology co., ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of zhengli xinneng, with a total planned investment of about 5.2 billion yuan. The base is positioned as the company's East China energy storage headquarters, integrating research and development, intelligent manufacturing, global sales and operation and maintenance services and other business links.

the base will be constructed in two phases. the first phase of 25GWh is planned to start construction in the second half of 2026 and will be put into production in the third quarter of 2027. The second phase will add 25GWh, construction is expected to be completed in 2028.
Suzhou base focuses on large-capacity lithium iron phosphate long-term energy storage batteries, mainly for 4 hours and above charge and discharge scene design. According to introduction, the monomer capacity of this kind of battery cell exceeds 300Ah, the cycle life at 80% discharge depth is not less than 12000 times, and the calendar life is not less than 25 years. At the same time, the base will support the construction of energy storage research and development center, battery core testing center, as well as covering the battery core, module, Pack to system integration of the whole process production line.
The project is a key step in the transformation of Zhengli New Energy to the energy storage business. As a Hong Kong-listed company established in 2018 and headquartered in Suzhou, Zhengli Xineng focused on the power battery business in the early days, and officially repositioned the energy storage business as the core growth sector in 2025.
By the end of 2025, Zhengli Xinneng has completed and put into production about 45GWh of production capacity in Suzhou, Nanjing, Ganzhou, Yibin and other places. After the Suzhou project lands, the company's total planned energy storage capacity will exceed 150 GWh. Zhengli Xinneng said that East China is the region with the most concentrated demand for energy storage, and the new base will effectively fill the capacity gap in the region, while shortening the order delivery cycle through localized production.
shipping data directly reflects the transformation effect of Zhengli Xineng. In 2024, the company shipped about 0.8GWh of energy storage batteries, mainly concentrated in domestic industrial and commercial energy storage and overseas household energy storage orders. In 2025, shipments of energy storage cells increased to 3.6GWh, up 350 year on year, with centralized energy storage accounting for 65% and overseas shipments accounting for more than 40%, covering European, Southeast Asian and Middle East markets.
Zhengli Xineng said that the Suzhou project will also help Suzhou to build a more complete energy storage industry chain cluster, driving the coordinated development of related industries such as positive materials, diaphragms, electrolytes, structural parts and system integration.
