German PV developer GOLDBECK SOLAR announced that it has been awarded the EPC contract for the Sidłowo-Kikowo-Dobrowo composite PV project in Poland. With a total installed capacity of 722MW, the project will become one of the largest photovoltaic power plants in Poland and even in Europe.

The project is located in (West Pomeranian Voivodeship), Poland, and consists of three large-scale surface power stations: the 290MW Sidłowo project, the 235MW Kikowo project, and the 197MW Dobrowo project. All power will be connected to the Polish National Grid (PSE) via the STR LKO 400/110 kV Intermediate Substation. Virya Renewables Poland received an equity investment of € 85 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) earlier this month to support the acquisition of rights to the project from Optima Wind. Steffen Emmerich, General Manager of GOLDBECK SOLAR Polska, said: "We are very happy to bring professional experience to this project and create a work that sets a new benchmark in scale and impact."
Currently, the largest project in operation in Europe is the 605MW power station that Move On Energy will start in Germany in 2024. In addition, the Polish government is actively promoting the construction of eight energy clusters and announced in December 2025 to provide state subsidies 0.264 billion the Polish zloty to encourage the development of large-scale renewable energy and energy storage facilities.
