Energy trader Ker Toki Power plans to develop a standalone energy storage facility in Romania.

Clean energy trading and aggregation company Ker Toki Power Romania plans to develop its own standalone battery energy storage facilities over the next 3 to 5 years, with a total projected capacity of 300 to 600 megawatt-hours. The company’s operations in Romania began with the commercial management of renewable energy assets on behalf of other owners. In just a few months, its portfolio has reached an installed capacity of approximately 200 MW, with projected power generation of about 500 GWh by 2026.

“This year, we expect revenue of at least 60 million lei, which could potentially double depending on energy prices and the commissioning phase of the standalone battery system currently under development.” Aurel Mindrican, the company’s general manager, stated, “In the medium term, over the next five years, our goal is to achieve a 10- to 20-fold increase in annual revenue.”

As part of the Renalfa Solarpro Group, Ker Toki Power Romania plans to invest in new renewable energy generation and energy storage projects, while also expanding its operations and maintenance services for third-party energy parks. Ming Delikan stated: “Our top priority is the commercial operation and performance optimization of our partners’ generation and energy storage assets, as well as those of the Renalfa Solarpro Group. Romania is one of the Group’s key markets, with interconnections to Bulgaria, Hungary, and Serbia, where we already have a strong presence.”

The company is further strengthening its participation in the wholesale energy market by optimizing energy flows and leveraging asset flexibility. It is also exploring the ancillary services market by operating both its own and its partners’ energy storage batteries. Ming Delikan added, “Depending on market developments, we do not rule out expanding into the end-customer power-supply sector within the next five years.”

In Romania, Renalfa Solarpro is evaluating an investment in a “PV-plus-storage” hybrid park to support grid stability and the integration of renewable energy. At the regional level, the group plans to develop 1,000 to 1,200 megawatts of renewable energy capacity and up to 2,000 megawatt-hours of standalone energy storage capacity over the next five years.

Authorized by the National Energy Regulatory Authority of Romania, Ker Toki Power Romania operates businesses that encompass electricity supply, optimization, aggregation, and trading. In partnership with its parent company, the firm provides energy services in Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Hungary, and Romania, serving more than 1,000 independent power producers as well as over 4,000 small and medium-sized enterprises and large industrial customers.
