Recently, Foster disclosed in the interactive platform, the company's Thailand base in the second half of 2025 to achieve a sharp rise in profits, operating conditions returned to normal, the fourth quarter more benefit from overseas photovoltaic demand high business climate to maintain a high proportion of production. This performance reversal not only confirms the strategic effectiveness of the company's overseas production capacity layout, but also conforms to the current development trend of the global photovoltaic market shifting to emerging markets.
The profit reversal at the Thailand base benefited from the launch of core production capacity. As early as October 2023, Foster started Thailand's annual output of 0.25 billion square meters of high-efficiency battery packaging film project, with a total investment of US $0.159 billion, and entered the stage of successive production in 2025. Foster has previously said that compared with the short-term fluctuations in the domestic industrial chain, the demand in overseas markets such as the United States, India and Southeast Asia is growing rapidly. Therefore, 0.3 billion yuan of funds raised from Guangdong project will be adjusted to Thailand project. With the new production line put into production, the problem of limited product types of the old production line has been solved, superimposed on the global PV emerging market explosive growth of the industry in 2025, the base to achieve a profit rebound.
Industry data show that the global PV new installed capacity is expected to reach 596 gigawatts in 2025, with emerging markets such as Southeast Asia and Latin America becoming the core growth poles. As an important city of clean energy development in ASEAN, Thailand has put forward the goal of 51% renewable energy in the power structure in 2037, providing a broad market space for the photovoltaic industry. The improvement in earnings at Foster's Thailand base is not only expected to boost the company's overall performance in the fourth quarter of 2025, but also lay the foundation for it to further deepen its overseas market.
