The Northwestern Power Grid’s annual inter-regional power transmission volume has, for the first time, exceeded 400 billion kilowatt-hours.

According to a Xinhua News Agency report on January 1, the Northwest Branch of State Grid Corporation of China disclosed that the Northwest Power Grid’s inter-regional power transmission volume reached 411 billion kilowatt-hours in 2025, marking the first time annual inter-regional power exports have exceeded 400 billion kWh. This represents a year-on-year increase of 16.4% and a rise of 71% compared with the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan period. Among them, the Northwest Power Grid transmitted 140.23 billion kilowatt-hours of renewable energy power across regions throughout the year, an increase of 38.5% over 2024.
