Deadline: January 10! Registration for Mechanism-Based Electricity Prices in Guangxi Has Begun

On December 31, 2025, the South China Regional Electricity Trading Platform issued the “Notice on Conducting Mechanism-Based Price Bidding Registration for New Energy Increment Projects in Guangxi,” which stipulates the following requirements:

Scope of project registration: New energy projects that have been commissioned (with full capacity connected to the grid; the same applies hereinafter) on or after June 1, 2025, are scheduled to come into operation within the next 12 months (by December 31, 2026, inclusive), including projects that were not fully connected to the grid as of June 1, 2025, and have never been included in the scope of mechanism-based pricing.

Specifically, new energy projects within local consumption initiatives such as source-grid-load-storage integration and direct power supply from green power sources are excluded from the scope of the mechanism-based electricity pricing; furthermore, both small-scale and large-scale distributed photovoltaic systems for general industrial and commercial users commissioned on or after June 1, 2025, are also excluded. The aforementioned types of projects are not subject to registration. Bidding registration begins on January 1, 2026, and the deadline is January 10, 2026.

Meanwhile, the notice cautions that the accuracy of the bidding registration information directly affects the settlement of price differentials. Therefore, please ensure that key details such as the project approval (filing) code, approved (filed) capacity, power source type, and commissioning date are filled in correctly and thoroughly verified. Any consequences arising from errors in the project information shall be borne solely by the new energy investment entity (or individual).

When reporting the committed commissioning date for projects that have not yet commenced operations, please ensure that the information accurately reflects the actual construction progress. If the actual commissioning date of a new energy project that has participated in the bidding and been included in the mechanism-based power allocation schedule is more than six months later than the declared committed commissioning date, the result of that particular selection round shall be invalidated, and the project shall be disqualified from participating in future bidding rounds for the subsequent three years.
