Construction Adit No. 1 is a critical access tunnel for the water diversion system of the Dehua Pumped Storage Hydropower Station. Its portal is located near the 35 kV Central Substation. The adit has a total design length of 1,156.24 meters, with an inlet elevation of 569.00 meters and a terminus elevation of 619.99 meters, resulting in an average gradient of 4.6%. Upon completion, this adit will primarily support the excavation of the upper-level water intake tunnel, muck removal, material transportation, and ventilation, serving as a critical lifeline for the construction of the power station’s water intake system. Since the project commenced, the project team has faced challenges including poor transportation access, restrictions on land acquisition and relocation, and stringent schedule requirements. Despite these obstacles, the team engaged in meticulous planning and organization, completing the preparation and review of a comprehensive construction plan. In light of technical characteristics such as the high slopes at the tunnel portals and the large cross-sectional dimensions, they developed specialized construction and safety measures. By working backward from the critical path milestones to establish a detailed task breakdown, rigorously implementing the quality and safety management system, and assigning specific responsibilities to individuals, we ensured that all work progressed to high standards and with high efficiency, thereby creating favorable conditions for on-schedule and smooth tunnel entry. Fujian Dehua Pumped-Storage Hydropower Station, as a key project under the National Medium- and Long-Term Development Plan for Pumped Storage (2021–2035), plays an important role in ensuring the safe and stable operation of the Fujian power grid, promoting the consumption of clean energy, and optimizing the regional energy structure. Going forward, the project department will continue to maintain its aggressive momentum, optimize the allocation of construction resources, and, while fully ensuring safety and quality, vigorously advance the excavation work in the access adits. This will ensure that the project progresses smoothly according to schedule, thereby laying a solid foundation for delivering a high-quality pumped-storage hydropower project.

On December 31, the No. 1 construction adit of the Dehua Pumped Storage Hydropower Station in Fujian Province was successfully driven into the mountain, laying a solid foundation for the construction of the power station’s main structure.
